Dim-By-Wire installed in All NSW Regions
The very first BRAUMS Dim-By-Wire solution, including both lanterns and the ATSC4 Traffic Signal Controller with Dim-By-Wire capability, have been installed in the Sydney Metropolitan area, the third and final region in New South Wales to have the latest technology installed.
The latest in ITS technology has also been installed in Wollongong and Newcastle regions, and have been the standard offering for newly constructed intersections in these areas.
First BRAUMS ELV Dim-By-Wire Lanterns installed in New South Wales in Auburn
Easy and Safer Installation
Installation of the new technology was conducted by DM Roads at two existing intersections, one in Auburn and the other in Granville. The existing lanterns and controllers were replaced at these sites, and after a minor wiring change, the sites now operate at the safer, extra-low voltage (ELV) of 42V AC, as well as utilising the best optical and photometric performance provided by the Futurled6 LED technology. Sooriakumar Vaithialingam, the NSW ITS Asset Steward for DM Roads, said that, “it was a straightforward job and I’m very happy with how the new technology works and looks.”

The New Standard
BRAUMS are enjoying the positive feedback from Transport for New South Wales and the electrical contractors with regards to the new technology, and are expecting the Sydney Metro region to follow the Newcastle and Wollongong regions in adopting this new safer and more advanced technology as standard.
